Andrea, Dr. Ronald K. Endowed Scholarship
The Dr. Ronald K. Andrea Endowed Scholarship was established in 2018 by Dr. Ronald K. Andrea to support motivated University of Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ students who are the first in their family to attend college.
Dr. Andrea grew up in a family of modest means and earned his college tuition through summer and part-time jobs and with the help of UA scholarship assistance. He completed his bachelor’s degree in 1968. Dr. Andrea was the first in his family to attend college and he may not have graduated without scholarship assistance. He established this scholarship to support similarly situated first-generation students attending Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ.
Dr. Andrea, who taught two years in the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ area, completed his master’s degree in School Psychology from Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ in 1971 and earned a doctorate from the State University of New York in 1979. He worked in the Buffalo, N.Y. area as a school psychologist and school administrator, worked in private practice and developed and taught seminars in communication skills, peer mediation and conflict resolution. He and his wife, Pat, married in 1976, are the proud parents of two sons and they have four grandchildren. They moved from western New York to Tucson, Arizona in 2003, where they are actively involved in community theater and volunteer work.
The Dr. Ronald K. Andrea Endowed Scholarship will be awarded annually to a deserving student enrolled at Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ who is the first in their family to attend college. Recipients must have demonstrated financial need and be strongly motivated to complete their degree.
Recipients will be selected by the University Scholarship Committee.
